Hello my name is Jacob Keener. I am a current student at the Kentucky College of Optometry with plans of graduating in 2025. In my free time I like to hang out with friends, attend club meetings, and work with the church in Pikeville. I am originally from North Carolina in a smaller town about an hour west of Charlotte. My goal is to be able to provide service to the underserved communities in Western North Carolina and beyond. 

Through my short time in Pikeville I have learned so much and am eager to see what comes next. I have also had opportunities to get involved in the school as a student ambassador and community outreach student coordinator. In the words of my mentor it will be the best and busiest time of your career, make the most out of it! 

I am the Past-Trustee at KYCO, where I represented our school on the national stage with the American Optometric Student Association an affiliate of the American Optometric Association. In my new role with the American Optometric Association, I am serving as a liaison between the Contact Lens and Cornea Section and the AOSA.
